Dr. Heidi Dirkse
Dr. Dirkse graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She worked for two years in Alanson, Michigan before joining Dr. Steven Baker in Indian River in 1999. Dr. Dirkse purchased the clinic in 2003.
It has certainly been quite an experience watching the clinic grow over the years including the recent addition and remodeling started in October of 2014 and now completed, doubling the size of the clinic. Dr. Dirkse enjoys practicing general veterinary medicine and surgery, especially with a dedicated and caring team who are always looking to improve their clinical knowledge and skills.
Along with her husband Brad, they also own and manage the Indian River Pet Resort next door to the Veterinary Clinic. They share their home with 2 Labrador Retrievers and 1 cat.

Dr. Sarah Ginop
Dr. Ginop was born and raised in Northern Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science from Alma College, and her DVM from Michigan State University. She enjoys living in Northern Michigan, and being surrounded by the hills, woods, lakes, and all the opportunities of outdoor activities. Dr. Ginop loves working in the community and enjoys seeing people she knows every day. It is a privilege to get to know and treat pets in the community, and she is committed to making a positive impact. She is married, and has a son (Aaron), a daughter (Josie), two dogs (Rosco and Ruby), a cat (Buzz Buzz), a rabbit (Mr. Fluffy), chickens and a mini horse (Annie Oakley). In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, snowboarding, camping and hiking. She is also a Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Burt Lake Christian Church.
